Who writes this, why, and what it will never say
Hospice at Home Help is a small reference desk for one reader at one moment: the daughter, son or spouse in the St. Louis area who is keeping a parent at home on hospice and has discovered that the visits are a few hours a week and the rest is theirs.
Who publishes it
OwnersFirm, a St. Louis company, publishes this site. Nobody on it is a clinician. The pages are written by an editorial desk, not by a named nurse or doctor, and they are deliberately signed that way so that no reader mistakes them for medical guidance. Where a page touches anything clinical, it quotes a public source in that source's own words and then sends the question to the hospice nurse or the physician who treats the person receiving care.
Why it exists
Search for whether hospice provides 24 hour care at home and you get a wall of near-identical answers, most of them from hospices themselves, all confirming the same gap: routine hospice is a visit schedule, and the family covers everything else. Almost nobody writes for the family covering that gap, and nobody writes for the family covering it in west county. This site does. Its one device is a weekly calendar with the hospice's hours shaded sage and the family's shaded blush, because seeing the hours is the first honest step toward sharing them.
What it will never say
- It will never tell you what a symptom means, what a medicine should be, or whether a change is normal for your mother. That is the hospice nurse's.
- It will never print an hourly price for anyone's care.
- It will never say one hospice, hospital or company is better or worse than another.
- It will never invent a statistic, a quote, a review or a family. Every number links to the public page it came from, and those pages are listed with the date they were checked on the sources page.
- It will never collect a health detail. The form on the front page asks for a name, a phone number and a town, and it says out loud not to type anything else.
The paid placement, disclosed
One slot on this site is paid. It belongs to New Plan Care, an independently owned non-medical in-home care company based in Chesterfield, Missouri, which is a client of OwnersFirm, the publisher of this site. The two companies are not commonly owned. The slot appears on the front page and, labelled, at the foot of each article. It is an advertisement with a phone number. It is not a rank, a result or a recommendation drawn from anything in the articles, and nothing in the articles was paid for. Where the site describes New Plan Care, it describes a non-medical service: presence in the house, personal care, meals, companionship and overnight sitting alongside hospice, never in place of it.
How the site is built
No analytics tags, no pixels, no call-tracking numbers. The only measurement is a server-side page count that never runs in your browser. The form posts to this site's own address and is passed to New Plan Care so they can call you back. Pages carry structured data for search engines and a plain sitemap. The text is set in EB Garamond and Nunito Sans, on a ground the palette calls candle white, because a page for this reader should look more like a card than a clinic.
